MY APPROACH
Whether you’ve attended a wedding I’ve photographed, been recommended to me, or discovered my work online, I never take it for granted when couples choose me because they connect with my photography style.
My approach is centred around telling the honest story of your day. I focus on the moments between moments, the subtle expressions, fleeting interactions, and quiet details that often pass unnoticed but hold so much meaning when you look back.
Whatever shape your wedding takes, you can trust that I’ll create a visual narrative that feels natural and unforced. If I’ve done my job properly, photography won’t feel like a production or something that pulls you away from your celebration. Instead, it will simply become a truthful record of it.
WHAT IS REPORTAGE?
The term “reportage” is often used in wedding photography, sometimes without much thought behind it. In its true sense, reportage refers to a factual, journalistic way of documenting events. For me, it means far more than photographing unobtrusively, it means capturing the emotion and atmosphere of the day as it genuinely unfolds.
When photographing a wedding, I aim to be present without being intrusive. If you look through my portfolio, you’ll notice that people only tend to look at the camera when they naturally choose to. Being inconspicuous doesn’t mean hiding under tables or shooting from across the room with huge lenses. It means blending in, building trust, and allowing people to feel comfortable.
Most people are far more at ease being photographed when they’re not asked to perform. For your couple portraits, I usually suggest taking a short walk together, a chance to step away from the day, catch your breath, and spend a moment alone while I quietly document it. These are often some of the most relaxed and meaningful photographs of the day, shaped by conversation, movement and genuine connection rather than direction or staging.
There’s no need for forced poses or elaborate setups. The only thing I ask is that you embrace the moment and enjoy the time together because what you bring to it is exactly what you’ll get back.
Weddings move quickly. With a genuine reportage approach, you won’t feel like you’ve missed parts of your day because of photography, you’ll simply have an honest and beautifully told story in photographs.
WHAT IS INCLUDED
Getting to Know Each Other
Meeting for coffee is usually where everything begins. It gives us the chance to talk through your plans and see if we’re the right fit, there is absolutely no pressure to book at this point. I may have already glanced at your social media just to put a face to your name, so if we meet in a café, I’ll be the one with a MacBook making slightly awkward eye contact with everyone who walks in.
You’re welcome to meet as many times as you like before the wedding. Most couples meet me twice, once during the enquiry stage and once closer to the date. Having photographed weddings for many years, I’m always happy to offer advice, supplier recommendations, or help you build a relaxed and realistic timeline.
Photography Approach
I specialise in a storytelling, documentary style of wedding photography. I won’t place you in stiff poses or ask guests to perform. We’ll keep any group photographs efficient and relaxed, usually around six groups works well though you’re welcome to tailor this however you like. Just remember to gently prepare family members if expectations need managing.
I work alone, which allows me to stay fully focused and consistent throughout the day and means I don’t need to rely on anyone else.
Editing & Delivery
Post-production typically takes four to five days of focused editing. Every image delivered in your gallery is individually processed by me to ensure consistency and quality.
Your Gallery
You’ll receive a private online gallery containing your fully edited, high-resolution images with no watermarks. You and your guests can view, download and share photographs freely at no additional cost. Prints can be ordered directly through the gallery or you’re free to use your own preferred print lab.
The gallery also includes slideshow functionality and optional black-and-white filtering, allowing you to experience your photographs in different ways.
Image Use
Your photographs are yours to share, print and enjoy without pressure or hidden limitations. It’s always appreciated when couples tag me when sharing online but if you forget, I will get over it.
Experience
I’ve worked as a full-time, self-employed photographer since 2010, photographing weddings throughout that time. This isn’t a side project or occasional work, it’s my career, and something I care about. If you’d like reassurance beyond my words, I always encourage couples to read through my testimonials.
INVESTMENT
My pricing is intentionally straightforward. I charge an all-inclusive hourly rate of £350.
This rate applies only to coverage on your wedding day but includes everything from our first conversation through to final delivery of your photographs.
There are no hidden costs.
Most weddings require between eight and twelve hours of coverage, though every wedding is different.
If your plans fall outside that, I’m always happy to provide a tailored quote.
DEPOSITS & CONTRACTS
Booking is simple and transparent.
I provide a contract that protects both you and me, ensuring clarity and peace of mind.
To secure your date, I ask for a 50% deposit at the time of booking.
